From 1 August 2025: accepted B2 English proof for non-EU students in Poland

If you are a non-EU candidate and you want to study in Poland in English (take a course in which English is the language of tuition), you must present an official English certificate at B2 level or higher.

LanguageCert International ESOL B2 Communicator (and higher levels) is officially listed by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education as an accepted document for this purpose.

• A LanguageCert IESOL certificate at the Communicator B2 level or higher confirms English proficiency for admission to studies conducted in English (Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, 30 July 2025). To meet this requirement, candidates must submit both certificates: LRW (Listening, Reading, Writing) AND S (Speaking).

• The LanguageCert IESOL certificate may also grant partial or full exemption from the university English language course. Detailed rules for transferring grades are available HERE. 

Important notice: Until the exemption is officially approved, students are required to attend all scheduled classes.

In order to register for an exam:

1. Go to the LanguageCert website 
2. Select LanguageCert ESOL 4-skills exam and click BOOK.
3. In the I HAVE A PROMO CODE field, enter the code dedicated to Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University:
   • for candidates registering from outside of Poland: A0E536 (10% discount)
   • for candidates registering from Poland: 469209 (15% discount)
4. Confirm by clicking APPLY. If the code is valid, the discount will be applied automatically. Make sure you do not put other characters or spaces in the promo code field.
5. Under the red‑highlighted SCHEDULE OR EDIT DATE & TIME, set your time zone and select the date and time at which you wish to take the exam.
6. Click UPDATE SELECTED SLOT TO BASKET.
7. Review your selected date and summary, then choose PROCEED TO CHECKOUT.
8. Log in (if you already have a LanguageCert account) or create a new account by completing the required fields and clicking JOIN.
9. Enter the details needed to process the payment – payment can be made by credit card or through PayPal.
10. Complete the payment. You will receive an email confirmation containing your selected exam date and time.
11. Your LanguageCert profile will display your exam details and a link to download the EXAM SHIELD application. Install it, open it, and click CHECK SYSTEM to test your device, microphone, headphones and internet connection. If the test is successful, you may return to the app 10 minutes before your scheduled exam.

Important reminders:

• Save your exam date so you don’t miss it.
• Make sure your LanguageCert profile includes your valid ID, which you will need to show to the examiner before the exam begins.

On the day of the exam:

• Prepare a quiet, comfortable space where no one will interrupt you.
• Ensure that your desk or table is clear of any materials such as books or dictionaries.
• Silence your phone and place it out of reach.
• Before the exam begins, the examiner will ask you to rotate your camera 360° to show the room you are in.
